The transverse manure-removal belt, a critical piece of equipment in modern poultry farms, is precisely installed directly beneath each tier of the chicken cages. Made from high-strength polyester fiber or specialty rubber and featuring a surface treated with a proprietary process, this belt boasts exceptional tear resistance while maintaining stable physical properties even under prolonged operation. During operation, the equipment demonstrates outstanding smoothness and stability; despite the high-humidity, high-dust conditions typical of poultry houses, it maintains a consistent travel speed of 3 to 5 meters per hour. Its wear resistance exceeds international standards by more than 1.2 times, and its corrosion resistance effectively withstands the corrosive effects of ammonia, sulfides, and other chemicals found in chicken manure.
The manure-removal system is powered by a dedicated explosion-proof motor, which transmits power to the drive drum via a gear-reduction unit. The motor is equipped with an intelligent variable-frequency drive that automatically adjusts its operating frequency in response to the volume of chicken manure produced, enabling scheduled manure removal 3 to 6 times per day. When the conveyor belt is activated, the chicken manure is evenly spread across the conveyor surface and guided by a 15°-inclined deflector plate for orderly transport to the manure-collection trough at the end of the poultry house. For large-scale farms, the system can be integrated with a longitudinal screw conveyor to directly convey the manure to an off-site fermentation-processing facility; smaller and medium-sized farms, on the other hand, may opt to collect the manure in a manure-collection vehicle and transport it via sealed pipelines to organic-fertilizer processing equipment.
This equipment delivers significant environmental benefits: timely removal of chicken manure reduces ammonia concentrations in the poultry house by 40%–60%, thereby effectively improving respiratory health in poultry. At the same time, the automated manure-removal system reduces the frequency of manual cleaning from three times daily to once weekly, resulting in annual labor-cost savings of approximately RMB 28,000 per poultry house. In terms of maintenance and upkeep, the manure belt is equipped with a dual tensioning mechanism featuring a spring–screw composite design. Operators can precisely adjust belt tension within a range of 0–50 mm by rotating the adjustment handwheel, thus preventing belt misalignment caused by slack and extending the equipment’s service life to more than eight years. In addition, the system includes an overload protection device that automatically shuts down and triggers an alarm when foreign objects become jammed, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
