The H-type tiered chicken cage, as one of the core pieces of equipment in modern large-scale poultry farms, features a unique multi-tier vertical stacking design, typically configured with 3 to 6 tiers and capable of being flexibly expanded to 8 or more tiers through modular assembly. Each tier is equipped with an independent conveyor-based manure removal system, driven by high-strength polyethylene chains and featuring an anti-adhesion coating, enabling high-frequency manure removal 3 to 6 times per day and effectively reducing ammonia concentrations within the house. The feeding system employs a screw-type precision dosing feeder, with PLC control ensuring accurate adjustment of feed delivery to each tier and maintaining dosage accuracy within ±2%, thereby guaranteeing uniform feed distribution.
The cage’s main frame is fabricated from hot-dip galvanized steel sheets 1.8–2.5 mm thick, precision-formed using CNC punching and stamping equipment. Key connection points employ double-sided spot welding, ensuring the entire structure can withstand wind loads of Grade 8 or higher. The zinc coating thickness exceeds 65 μm, providing more than 15 years of corrosion resistance even in aquaculture environments with 85% relative humidity. The cage door is available in two configurations: a front-tilt design equipped with a hydraulic buffer for an opening angle of up to 120°, facilitating easy chicken-handling operations; and a lift-up design featuring counterweight balance, which can be effortlessly opened with one hand—making it particularly well-suited for high-frequency inspection routines.
The cage-bottom mesh is fabricated from Q235 carbon steel wire through a heat-treatment process, with a wire diameter of 2.8–3.2 mm and a diamond-shaped mesh pattern featuring longitudinal spacing of 50 mm and transverse spacing of 25 mm. This design ensures that eggs naturally roll at a 30° angle into the egg-collection trough, while the curved mesh wires distribute pressure from the chickens’ feet across four contact points, effectively preventing footpad dermatitis. Field trials have demonstrated that this design can reduce the incidence of lameness in flocks to below 0.3%.
As the core platform of an intelligent farming system, the H-shaped tiered chicken cage seamlessly integrates with the central control system: the automated feeding system uses infrared sensors to monitor feed levels in the troughs and automatically initiates a replenishment cycle when the remaining feed falls below the preset threshold; the automated egg-collection system employs a flexible belt conveyor combined with electronic counting devices to provide real-time tracking of egg production; and the automated manure-removal system is equipped with an odor-control module that utilizes a biofilter to keep ammonia concentrations below 15 ppm. The entire system is managed via an IoT platform for remote monitoring, enabling farm personnel to access key parameters such as house temperature and humidity, light intensity, and feed consumption on their mobile devices. This fully automated management spans the entire production cycle—from chick placement to market-ready birds—and can achieve an annual output of more than 300,000 chickens per house.
